Connect With Other Pagans!

There are several ways to get in contact with people. In fact, you can find people in several ways through this site. Here is an explanation of various methods you can find, including the ones here:

CHAT

There is the chat room here, though it may be hard to find someone in there at the same time. You can check out the chat room here. I don't go to many chats anymore, and the ones I used to join have been having many problems (technical or otherwise) lately. I'll try to add links as I come across some good ones.

MESSAGE BOARDS

There is also the message board located here. For both the Chat and the Message Board, I became friends with one of the BeSeen.com tech members due to someone deciding to be obnoxious. The person was "dealt with" and hasn't been seen again, to my knowledge. Companies like BeSeen.com take this kind of thing seriously. If you misbehave and I get wind of it, I will not hesitate to report you. (As well as seriously mock you just for the laughs...Rule #1 is to never piss off a person who has Scorpio in any major part of his/her natal chart--we're good at revenge. *L*) Just letting you know ahead of time. *grin*

Some other places that have messages boards (some good, some bad, some mediocre...I'm trying to be unbiased and let you decide) are:

The Celtic Connection

Pagans Unite! Witch/Pagan Resources

Bolt.com

E-MAIL LISTS

There are several great e-mail lists out there for the interested person. You can find many of them at egroups.com or spiritonline.org. E-mail lists are also excellent for Pagan groups to keep in touch and up to date instead of having to wait on one guru to send out a group e-mail announcing time and place for a meeting. Here are a few recommended examples:

Yahoo! Groups: There are numerous e-mail lists at this site. Just do a search on the words "Wicca" or "Paganism" and you'll have more than enough to choose from. This site used to be Onelist.com.

College Wiccans: This is a list I'm on, and actually not on "No mail." Discussions are decent when we have time to write, though talk tapers off during the breaks and around exams.

American Witch: This list contains much of the Florida State University population, as well as others.

Spiritonline.org: There are several e-mail lists at this site on numerous topics.

ADVERTISE YOURSELF

I'm going to get a "Classified Ads" section going on UNIVERSE-ity, the newsletter of this website so people can advertise themselves and get in touch with others. In the meantime, when looking for others, be sure to check out these pages:

READ YOUR NEWSPAPER, KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN

You can find notices for Pagan groups is you keep your eyes open and check out everything. You should probably find bulletin boards wth flyers of Pagan events at your local library, bookstore, health food store, or coffee shop. Don't forget to check out other college campuses! Check out Renaissance Faires and Native American Pow-wows, too...you can find them all over the United States.

Be sure to watch the "Preview" section of your local newspapers for events and things you can participate in. For example, an advertisement in the "Participatory Dance" column in the Durham Herald-Sun's Friday Preview section has "Dances of Universal Peace" and "Universal Goddess Worship Circle." Under "Discussions" I found a "Religion and Ethics Discussion Group" while several bookstores had "Harry Potter" days/discussions. In addition, I saw several pertinent discussions being held at the local health/organic food store (Wellspring Grocery) that could be interesting.

Finally, don't hesitate to look in your phone book. Even in my area in North Carolina where we have 14 Christian bookstores (and that's only the blatantly obvious ones!) you CAN find Pagans and Pagan-related material/discussions.

Simply because you think you're in the Bible Belt doesn't mean it's not out there...we've found inverted pentagram pendants in rural South Carolina, skull candles in Missouri, and even Cookville, TN has a bit of a Pagan population, complete with webring. People ARE out there, you just have to keep your eyes open and check out any leads you can get your hands on. Good luck!
