ISBN: 0958670056
Back cover synopsis:
Designed as a manual, this book describes a systematic process
to open the third eye. It has been written for those who cannot
be satisfied with only an intellectual understanding of spiritual
realities, and who wish to gain access to direct experience.
The development of spiritual vision requires the patient
building of some new "organs" of energy, of which the
third eye is an essential member. These new structures are not physical,
nevertheless they are very tangible. Once fully developed,
the perceptions coming through them appear clearer, sharper and
far more substantial than those coming from the physical senses.
This approach always emphasizes the superiority of experience over
mental concepts, of first hand knowledge over belief. Therefore,
the reader is not asked to believe what is written here, but to
practice the exercises.
The techniques described in this book include:
- a progressive method to develop clairvoyance and subtle
perception
- psychic sleep
- tuning into land energies and dowsing ley lines
- working on the third eye with babies
- perceiving and freeing energy circulations in the meridians
- several techniques to enhance daily awareness and presence
- a whole range of techniques of psychic protection and grounding.
These techniques have been designed for people who are part of
the world. They do not invite you to withdraw from your daily activities,
but to start performing them with a different awareness and
a new vision, in order to achieve an integration of spiritual
practice into all aspects of life.

Rhaevyn's Synopsis |
Awakening the Third Eye is a how-to guide
giving progressive exercises to not only become aware of and open
your third eye, but also strengthen it and enhance your own perceptions.
The exercises clearly build upon one another, helping your practice
move along without either becoming boring or too rapid.
I'll admit, I first read this book through before starting the
exercises. But going back to the beginning and actually practicing
the exercises is the whole point of the book and the key to seeing
progress. I've tried other books to tap into my third eye before,
but this is the first one where I was actually able to see and feel
progress. The exercises are pretty clear, and there is even a chapter
on what to expect as you progress. |
Entertainment
Factor |
| This is not simply a book to read and then put down.
You put the exercises to use and see what happens. The writing is
clear, slightly repetitive to emphasize points, but I did not feel
the repetition was demeaning. I'll admit I felt silly the first time
doing the throat friction exercise, but when I discovered it worked,
I was excited to continue practicing. It is written in a scientific
manner which helps even the most skeptical-minded of us give it a
shot, yet it is not written so you get lost in difficult terminology.
The type of writing was why I felt okay to read through it (often
well into the early morning hors) before starting, but practicing
was when everything really began to click. |
Content
and Information |
| As someone who prefers an intellectual, logical, scientific
approach to learning something new, this book hit the spot. It is
highly informative, not only regarding the exercises themselves, but
as to why they work. It is not mucked up by telling stories
and anecdotes to illustrate the subject, but it gets to the point,
stays on topic, gives exercises to practice throughout each chapter
to keep you going, and encourages the reader to experience it for
himself instead of relying on Sagan's say-so or an anecdote to trust. |
Usefulness
|
| This book really is only useful if you do the exercises.
But guess what? The purpose of the book is the exercises, and
if you buy it, it's probably because you intend to do the exercises.
Even if you can't practice for a while, you can go back a chapter
and begin again without feeling like you have to start entirely from
scratch. In addition, the hardest part to understand was the throat
friction--and the author has a link listed in the book to an audio
file on his website to hear what throat friction sounds like. Sagan
really seems to have covered the bases to help a person learn using
the book if they cannot actually go to his school in person. Learning
to awaken the third eye requirespractice, and this book has basically
included all the tools and instruction to at least get you started
so you can start experiencing what other books only hint at. |
Longevity
|
| I think this book will prove itself to be a worthy
investment. Again, I have tried exercises in other books, but this
is the first one I have read that has helped me see any actual progress.
If I ever get another book on "tapping into your psychic abilities,"
I think I will definitely be using this as a supplement to adapt their
exercises into a format that actually works for me. |
Final Analysis
|
| I've tried other books. Other books have not given
me even a tingling of understanding no matter how hard I worked at
practicing their exercises. If you actually do the exercises in this
book, I think you are more likely to discover that this book tends
to fill in what other books have been missing. It is practical, logical,
easy to understand, and when actually followed as a guide, produces
results I have not seen anywhere else. |
