The first step in Magick is travel beyond the world of the senses. Aleister Crowley, Magick Without Tears The magical system presented by Sir John Dee, court astrologer to Queen Elizabeth 1, views the physical world as only the lowest in a graduated series of cosmic planes. There are many invisible worlds surrounding this Earth. The reason they are invisible is because they are composed of matter that is so tenuous that our eyes cannot see it. There are many degrees of matter's density. The most dense is the physical plane. The next, more ethereal and very close to the physical plane, is the etheric plane symbolized by the element Earth. The next more ethereal world is the astral plane which is usually divided into a lower half, symbolized by the element Air, anda higher half symbolized by the element Fire. The highest plane conceivable to human consciousness is the spiritual plane symbolized by the element Spirit (the Enochian system uses Spirit as a fifth element).

Principles of Chaos Magick

An Enochian Pentagram Ritual

Use the following ritual in your magical operations for banishing or invoking, or make modifications to it as you will. It is an Enochian adaptation of the Golden Dawn's Lesser Ritual of the Pentagram. NOTES During the first five steps, use your right hand to trace a pentagram beginning at your forehead. Enochian Gematria reveals that the five words spoken in these steps add up to a total of 449, the number for the word PARAKLEDA (Par-rah-kel-eh-dah) which mearas marriage or wedding This demonstrates the binding force behind these words. Reactions Against The Occult Philosophy The Witch Craze

Its enemies were not in the ascendant. But as the century moved on into darker years, the orthodox opposition to Renaissance occult philosophy hardened, a development comparable to the hardening of opinion against Erasmus and all that he stood for. The hopes for unity had not materialised Reformation and Catholic reaction had increased disunity. The Formulas Of Enochian Magick

Magical formulas are an expression of natural motion. They establish procedures for action ways of doing something in the world. The best formulas, and among the most powerful, are those that dovetail with natural law. The fact that a natural law is not widely known, or perhaps e ve n re j e c te d as im p o ssib le b y the lo gic al thinking of the majority, in no way negates the power of the formula itself. Formulas of immense power include those that corre spond with the cyclic laws o f manifestation and creative expression. This manual addresses twelve formulas of Enochian Magick as shown in Table VIII. Their meaning and derivations are presented together with their gematric correspondences. Each represents an attitude toward life and describes a particular form of motion through time and space.

The union of microcosm and macrocosm, the subjective self with its objective world, implies the union of all dualities including sexual polarities. It is your task as a magician to seek within yourself all of those qualities characterized as masculine or feminine. Modern psychology suggests that every man has a feminine psychic component and that every woman has a masculine psychic component (this idea is expressed in the Jungian descriptions of the anima and animus). Llewellyns Teutonic Magick Series

Teutonic Magick is as vast as the northern sky and as deep as the shrouded northern mists. Many of the most powerful forms of magick in the West were developed to an early perfection by Teutonic magicians Albertus Magnus, Agrippa, Paracelsus some were even elevated to the level of legend, such as Faustus. Teutonic Magick is multifaceted it has its own innate traditions those of the ancient Germanic peoples (Anglo-Saxons, Germans, Dutch, Scandinavians) and in addition it has those of the general Western Tradition which they received from southern Europe in the Middle Ages and proceeded to develop with characteristic scientific zeal. The world of Teutonic Magick is full of truly secret, some sinister, corners as well. Many of these like so much else that we believe to be sinister are thus characterized simply because they are unknown and perhaps also misunderstood. There are whole realms of Teutonic Magick that have largely been kept truly secret until the latter part of this century.

There has been a lot written about initiation and its importance in Magick. It is more than simply adding further knowledge. It implies a death of something and a rebirth of something else. After you are initiated, in the true sense of the word, you will not be the same as you were. Initiation always implies a drastic change. Initiation into Magick implies accepting a totally new outlook on life and even more important, a new view of yourself. Your grade in an outer magical organization should reflect the extent of your inward perception, but unfortunately this is not always the case. Because Magick is a highly personal experience, outer organizations are not necessary to achieve valid initiations. You will discover as you gain insight into the Aethyrs that each contains its own initiations. Two excellent examples of these are POP and ZEN. The first, POP, contains an initiation into the feminine current.

Suggested use in Ritual Magick

Within the sacred circle of Az, or the Triangle as you have drawn it, the daemon within may ascend above you as Azothoz, the Angel-Dragon who is born of shadow. In the rites of Sexual Magick, the practitioner has become essentially a self-created separate being, one which stands outside the bliss of nirvana. The Luciferian shall seek the ecstasy of self-love, but also that which focuses future self-creation and progression. Concentration is essential in such workings, as it is between lovers the daemonic ecstasy of self-invoked power. It is not rare during such tantric practice that the practitioners feel a type of shadow or force surrounding them this is the gathering of the Sabbat in one of many of its forms. It is the widdershins circle-dance of beast and daemon, or servitor and lilitu. Your desire empowers their drive, their activity and movement. Use these created and attracted forces well they shall be servitors of your very lust and desire.

Belief A Key to Magick

Chaos Magic

One aspect of Chaos Magick that seems to upset some people is the Chaos Magician's (or Chaoist, if you like) occasional fondness for working with images culled from non-historical sources, such as invoking H.P Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos beings, mapping the Rocky Horror Show onto the Tree of Life, slamming through the astral void in an X-Wing fighter, and 'channeling' communications from gods that didn't exist five minutes ago. So you might see why using this sort of thing as a basis for serious magical work raises one or two eyebrows in some quarters. Isn't after all, the Lovecraft stuff fiction What about linking in with 'inner planes contacts', 'traditions', etc - surely you can't do magick with something that doesn't bear any relation to history or mythology In the past, such criticisms have been raised over the subject of magicians working with 'fictional' entities. In this section, I hope to argue the case against these objections.

Magick Mysticism and Magnetism

The most simple and direct method of magnetically attracting an idea into our lives is by constructing a precise summary of the desire for our minds. A talisman is a perfect example of this. Talismans have the advantage of convenience over many other forms of magick because, as physical objects, they tend to work even in the case of a totally incompetent magician. The only thing left to you, the magician, is to construct a talisman that accurately reflects your desire and to create an atmosphere wherein it can be charged by the invisible force you seek. This section does not present an actual tool per se, but rather a set of tools that will enable you to connect with the planetary energies for the purpose of creating talismans. These archetypal energies form the basis of most sophisticated forms of magick, as well as a system for understanding your unconscious drives and repressions. Table 12 (below) reviews the basic correspondences of the planetary energies.

The Grimoire of Honorius

Despite the iniquities of the Pacta Conventa Dxmonum, the Grand Grimoire has failed, however, to invoke upon itself such severe condemnation as the Grimoire of Honorius the Great, otherwise Honorius the Third. It is scarcely too much to say that almost every accusation preferred against this remarkable work is false generally and specifically, the chief distinction between them being that some are the misrepresentations of ignorance and others the false interpretations of prejudgment. The French occultist, Papus, alone seems to take the middle view, though he speaks with some vagueness when he says that the sorcery of this Grimoire is more dangerous for weak experimentalists than for the enemies of the sorcerer. Eliphas Levi observes that the work is not without importance for the students of occult science.

The Grand Rite of Luciferian Sex Magick

Brief History Of Western Magick

There are many who insist upon evaluating various magick practices and philosophy by such things as its antiquity. Therefore, a brief history of Western Sex Magick, which has been practiced by high initiates for a known period of one thousand years to this present day, is well advised. There are those who stoutly maintain that all Occultism and Magick originated in the Far East. Even though this may be so in going back to unrecorded history, nevertheless, for many centuries there have been essential differences between the East and the West. Again, there are those who maintain that there is nothing in Western Magick that is not in the Eastern. Their arguments are astute enough but there is one flaw they do not know enough Western Magick to know about the very essential differences. It is hazardous to go back beyond the Middle Ages for documented history of Magick in Europe, dating the Middle Ages from 400 A.D. to 1541 A.D.

The Three Schools of Magick

The Black School of Magick, which must by no means be confused with the School of Black Magick or Sorcery, which latter is a perversion of the White tradition, is distinguished fundamentally from the Yellow School in that it considers the Universe not as neutral, but as definitely a curse. Its primary theorem is the 'First Noble Truth' of the Buddha Everything is Sorrow. In the primitive classics of this School the idea of sorrow is confused with that of sin. (This idea of universal lamentation is presumably responsible for the choice of black as its symbolic colour. And yet Is not white the Chinese hue of mourning ) We may complete the whole tradition of the Indian peninsula very simply. To the Vedas, the Upanishads, and the Tripitaka of the Buddhists, we have only to add the Tantras of what are called the Vamacharya Schools. Paradoxical as it may sound the Tantrics are in reality the most advanced of the Hindus.

Enochian Ritual Of The Priestess Of The Silver Star

This ritual is designed for the intermediate and experienced magician. It simulates the initiatory processes that are encountered in the 19th Aethyr, POP. If properly executed, it will invoke a strong feminine current characteristic of that encountered in POP. PART 1. The Preparation. Wear your white robe. Charge your Talismans for IAO, QAA and TOOG. Also make and charge Talismans for the Magick Squares of ROR and GRAA. Place your Cup and Pantacle on your Altar. Hold your Wand in your right hand and consecrate a circle with the Banishing Rituals of the Pentagram and Hexagram.

Enochian Death Ritual

The following Enochian ritual is provided for advanced magicians. It invokes the natural death processes and is therefore a powerful ritual of initiation into life. If properly conducted, you, the magician, will directly face your own death and transcend it. You will understand death to be a necessary part of life. STEP 1. Wear your black robe. Conduct an appropriate opening ceremony such as the Enochian Formula of Opening by Watchtower. Enter your Body of Light.

Enochian Ritual Of Vrelp

This ritual is for those Enochian Magicians who seek to safely enter the City of the Pyramids. It is based entirely on the formula of VRELP. It should be conducted in darkness, and preferably at night. PART 1. Preparation. Wear your black robe. Charge your talismans for the formulas of VRELP, KAL and IVITDT. Also charge your talismans for the Magick Squares of NEMO, AMMA and ROR. Place these and your Sword on your Altar. Hold your Wand in your right hand and consecrate a circle with the Banishing Rituals of the Pentagram and Hexagram.

Enochian Precipitation Ritual

The magical ability to bring invisible objects into visible appearance is well-known. It involves the conscious precipitation of psychic and or astral objects into physical manifestation. All physical objects are such precipitations, following the natural law of manifestation. The magician can use this law according to his own will, and make his own physical manifestations. To be successful, the magician must consciously direct and quicken the natural tendency of an astral object to assume physical form. The following ritual is provided for advanced magicians.

The Lesser Key of Solomon

The Lemegeton, or Lesser Key of Solomon, Rabbi and King, is a work of far more exalted pretensions, which deploys all the hierarchies and evokes spirits by milliards. About its antiquity there is no need for serious dispute it claims to be translated from the Hebrew, but its earliest perfect examples are in French of the seventeenth century, and no one has heard of the original. It must have existed, however, in a much earlier form it is the subject of continual reference by demonologists like Wierus, under the style of the sorcerer's Liber Spirituum, and it is from this source that the scornful sceptic who was the pupil of Agrippa, derived his Pseudomonarchia Dxmonum, with, however, significant variations from the known copies. The Lemegeton is divided into four parts, which control the offices of all spirits at the will of the operator, from whom the ordinary conditions are exacted.

Aleister Crowley Liber Cheth

The Cup of Babalon, the Sangreal, can be seen in the 12 th Aethyr, LOE. The 12th Aethyr has the same gematric number as the 19th Aethyr (LOE 48 POP) and thus shares in its characteristics. In LOE the feminine current is stronger than it is in POP and the initiation is similar, but of a higher order. You will see the Cup of Babalon (the Enochian word for cup is TALHO which also has the gematric value of 48) or its equivalent in this Aethyr. The Governors of LOE are Buddhism between the Mahayana and the Hinayana and to similar splits in many occult organizations. It is a distinction involving the concept of spiritual selfishness and you will need to understand it before going beyond LOE.

Enochian Pyramid Ritual

This ritual is designed for the experienced magician. Beginners are advised to carefully study the ritual, its symbolic meanings and gematric correspondences before practicing it. It simulates the initiatory processes that are encountered in the 18th Aethyr, ZEN, and will invoke the strong masculine current that pervades the Vault of Zen. All Enochian names and phrases must be vibrated properly during the execution of this ritual. PART 1. Preparation. Wear your black robe. I've scanned some pages (above) from an old occult catalog. Nowadays everything is sold online, and quaint catalogs like this are pretty much part of the past. I don't think the company that published this still exists. Yet, I get a kick out of checking out the different offerings from the past. These pages contain a mixture of cool stuff and some silly stuff. I wonder does anybody collect vintage occult items I love collecting things. But I've realized that vintage occult objects are not easy to find. Not many people are into this topic to begin with, and I don't think those who are consider acquiring these items as collectables. I know there is a healthy market for vintage books with occult topics. Outside of that, what is collectable True antique tarot cards are extremely rare and are not to be found. Modern mass produced decks are easy to find, but forget finding something made by woodcut.

I will take a nugget of an idea and see where it will take me. With some ideas there is not much of a nugget to work with. Sex Magick has many variations and expessions. In conjunction with Enochian Magick there are three major degrees. These three degrees are identical to the three taught in Tibetan Tantra as follows 1. KARMAMUDRA. The three degrees are all called 'madras' which can mean symbolic positions (you may already be familiar with the mudras as hand positions used in meditations). This is the first and lowest stage. It is Magick using an external partner. Any magical operation which is conducted by two or more people which calls on or uses sexual forces or currents is of the Karmamudra type. What is Chaos Magick

Since it burst upon the magical scene in the late '70's it has generated a great deal of debate about what it is, what it isn't, and who's doing it 'right' - such circular arguments being beloved of occultists, it seems. At this point, it would be tempting to launch into a lengthy discussion of the history of magic leading up to Chaos magic, but instead I'll confine it to a sweeping generalisation and say that before Chaos came kicking and screaming onto the scene, the dominant approach to 'doing magic' (and still is, to a great extent) was the 'Systems' approach. An important influence on the development of Chaos magic was the writing of Robert Anton Wilson & co, particularly the Discordian Society who revered Eris, the Greek goddess of Chaos. The Discordians pointed out that humour, clowning about and general light-heartedness was conspiciously absent from magic, which had a tendency to become very 'serious and self-important'.

Appendix contains notes on various hermetic magickal and related societies. Except where noted, all of mS these groups were real occult organizations during the Imperial Age (1870-1890). In campaigns where magic and the occult are real, GMs may wish to create purer Druid societies, perhaps the true heirs of an ancient tradition. Druids can still be designed according to the rules of this supplement, although the GM may wish to include Divine spells. Druids should also have the Perform (Bard) skill.

Aleister Crowley, Magick Without Tears The thirty Aethyrs and the Qabalistic Tree of Life are both maps of the same subtle regions. Although they vary in details, they constitute a structuring of the subtle planes and subplanes that exist between spirit and matter. Because the Tree of Life and the Aethyrs have such striking correspondences, it is not surprising that the Aethyrs can also be used in a divinatory role. Enochian Tarot is therefore a valid and viable divinatory technique and can be used in the same way as the standard Tarot. The thirty Aethyrs can be used to make a deck of thirty cards, one for each Aethyr an Enochian Tarot. As a deck of cards, it is similar to the major arcana of the standard Tarot and can be used for either divination or meditation. One of the challenges of Enochian Magick is to enter each of the Aethyrs and learn the lessons of life directly. Initiation, in the true sense, is a direct confrontation with reality or fact.

Throughout fiction and fantasy there are mages of every countable type. There are hideous witches and beautiful sorceresses elderly wizards and spitfire battle-mages monsters and demons who cast magic with impunity, and great gods and deities who are masters of the magical arts. All can be created with these rules of magic. A magic user should be built as any character in Fuzion. He may also have other special powers, such as superpowers or psionics, but this is dependent upon the gameworld's restrictions. Most mages are fairly powerful, and will have at least Heroic characteristics and Option Points, but the GM will assign these as he sees fit. All mages must have a Magical Characteristic (see above). Because this now makes eleven characteristics the GM may either choose to give some extra CP or force the players to spread out the spending of their CP more thriftily

The Cuide that awaits you in the 8th Aethyr, ZID, is your own Holy Guardian Angel. You will confront him face to face when you enter ZID.

Magic of Becoming Invisible

To start with, we have to distinguish between a mental or spiritual, an astral or psychic, and a physical invisibility. Making the mental body, that is the spirit, invisible has no particular value, but it is nevertheless possible that situations will occur in life where this practice could be useful.
