These are articles and newsbites I've pulled out of various sources that deal with Paganism or Religion in the media. They may be news or opinion articles. Anything goes here as long as it's in the media. For more articles that I haven't covered, check The Witches' Voice sections titled Wren's Nest and Witches and Pagans in the Media as well as The Witches' League for Public Awareness' section called Witches in the Media. Another good source is free! Freedom Forum Online's Religion Section. I will be working with these articles more in depth when the Fall semester begins again. From the National Review Online: Strange Gods: Neo-paganism on campus: By Peter Wood, associate provost, Boston University. While I have linked the title of the article to the original website, I have also made a copy and placed it on this site in case their site goes down or the address is changed. The link to this article was sent to me, with a nod to Dave Barry, by an alert reader. (Hi HB!) Wood writes about Neo-Pagans on campus, and basically fails miserably in his attempts to prove how Neo-Pagans and the acceptance of Neo-Paganism has drawn down the intellectual standard of higher education. Mind you, I find it hard to get angry at his article. Granted, I'm easily amused as it is, but instead of explaining why I'm not angry per se here, I wrote a response that is linked below. To sum up, "He who makes the claims must supply the proof." Wood doesn't support his claims, and what little proof he does supply was easily debunked. In the meantime, while I may be one of those he considers "dim," "confused," and against "intellectual coherence," but I think he is dishonest, deceitful, and knowingly told half-truths to shed a bad light on Neo-Pagans to his readers who know less about our religion than he. Frankly, I have more proof from his own words to back up my description of him, and I'd rather be incorrectly assumed "dim and confused" than be a proven liar. Rhaevyn's Response: My Gods Are Quite Normal, Thank You Very Much!
