Old Front Page News - April 2004

April 17, 2004--New article posted! Again, I've been stumped with what to write. It happens. A LOT. But you've probably noticed that by now.

I finally came up with a new aritcle. Actually, this one was in the works, but I couldn't find my notes. I had begun it while I was at work one day some time ago, and then I stuffed that paper into the purse I was carrying at the time. I should really clean that purse out and see what other possible beginnings to articles I might have stuffed in there.

So please...take the time to read "You Know You're Ready When...: A FAQ" if you have a question that begins with, "How will I know I'm ready to...?" before e-mailing me. I feel bad enough because I haven't gotten around to the e-mails that *don't* involve that question first!

The only book I've read recently was The Book of Shadows by James Reese. I picked it up at our bookstore on a day when we were having bad weather. I needed something to keep in my bag for when I was bored at work or for lunch breaks when we didn't have a new People or Time magazine. It wasn't the best book in the world, and the biggest nit-picky issue I had was the final ritual on a New Moon being held at night. But otherwise I was entertained enough to read it while I was at home, too. It wasn't Neil Gaiman or Harry Potter entertaining, but I did want to continue reading. There are plenty of other books I'd recommend for more accurate portrayals of Witchcraft, but for a fiction book, it sufficed. Of course, I'm easily amused.

I'm almost inspired enough to continue working on the book I was writing, but I really have been at a stuck point. I think it's a book that needs to be written, but it's just a matter of being able to sit down long enough that I don't lose my train of thought like usual. For this, I miss being in college and writing long papers. That long, grueling process certainly is a good mental workout for writing a text.

And for the record, my e-mail has also been hit pretty hard by spam, and there's not much I can do about it. If you're receiving e-mails from me, well...you're not. Spammers have gotten better at spoofing e-mail addresses to the point where I'm ready to discontinue my official address for this site for a short while. If you're getting viruses from my e-mail address, I assure you...I check my e-mail through my on-line server only in text form, do not open attachments, and have not been using Outlook or some other e-mail program for things to slip through. My e-mail server cleans up known viruses, and I delete anything without opening it from anyone that I do not know and does not look like a true e-mail related to this site. So my apologies to anyone who has been receiving junk from "me"...it's not me. I haven't had a chance to send out an e-mail for about a month now.

So anyway, thanks for your continued patronage and patience as I have not been updating like I used to. If you have any ideas on new articles that you think you'd like to see, please e-mail me and let me know...just be sure that the subject indicates that you're a real person, not a spammer, or I might delete it, and we don't want that to happen.
