Old Front Page News - May 2003

May 28, 2003--It took me long enough... About this time last year, I think, Uncle Hyena graciously e-mailed me some wonderful Sabbat poems. I was hoping to get UNIVERSE-ity up and running at the time, and wanted to use them as a feature. You can see where that went. Then K'Tok gave me a new hard drive (*geeky smile of approval in his direction*) and while I got most of my old files, I forgot to move over my old e-mails. So on the old hard drive they stayed.

I recently asked Uncle Hyena to e-mail them again, and this time I've posted them. I know, I know...FINALLY!

Go check them out...they'd be excellent to recite in ritual! I'd also love to see if anyone could put them to music! It's a challenge, but if you're musically inclined and would like to share, I'm sure we can think of some kind of reward for your work, too!

May 25, 2003--Mercury Retrograde SUCKS! Yes, I admit there have been very few updates over the past month. I was either busy, or in hiding. I preferred the hiding, though it didn't do much good.

I'll spare you the details, but I had major issues with my job and my car. The car is mostly okay...someone basically ran across the nose so the front bumper needs some new paint. K'Tok had car issues, too, and thankfully it didn't impede us from celebrating his birthday with his family.

The job is another thing. Things shouldn't have gone over the way they did, and at least I can say that it's motivated me to do some serious work on my book. Yeah, I'm writing a book too. Since so many of you have been wanting lessons on Wicca, I'm trying to fulfill that order. Everything's outlined and I have a serious start on the writing already, but there's a LOT left to do. There's no estimated date of completion yet, but I do feel geared up for it. And again, I have to thank those of you who have bought books through this site from Amazon...I don't think money is going to get incredibly tight just yet, but I'd hate to have to go back to free servers in case the job issue does not work out as planned.

My dream job (at this moment...I am a Gemini!) is to be able to finish this book and use it as my "textbook" to teach Wicca classes at a local witchnook. I'd also love to be able to tour college campuses and help out with budding SPO's and give lectures, but that's probably far off in the distance. Which reminds me...if you do have an SPO, you can often get student activity money from your college by sponsoring a guest speaker. Just something to keep in mind when you start back next fall.

Yeah, I know...you just finished or are presently finishing a school year and you don't want to think about next fall just yet. This is just a good time to plan ahead.

May 1, 2003--Happy Beltane/Samhain! For those of you in the Northern Hemisphere, have a great May Day! For those of you in the Southern Hemisphere, a blessed Samhain to you! There are plenty of pages on this site to help you with your celebration.(Scroll down to the Group and Solitary Activities pages.)

I just came back from a business conference yesterday, so I don't have much to say right now. Today's supposed to be my day off, but I'm going in shortly anyway. I keep wondering how I'm going to celebrate Beltane, myself!

Since the forum has been taking off, I've changed the link at the top of the page to direct you to that location. Please join...it's been rather active, and it was nice to see the activity that greeted me when I returned from my trip.

That's it for now...more updates soon!
