| November 3, 2004--And in other news: No, I'm not talking about politics on College Wicca. I stopped watching the news (except enough to get by) some time ago and now have the tv set to either Cartoon Network, the History Channel, or Discovery Channel. My new favorite show is Mythbusters. The geek in me screams for joy when that show is on. I also like Ghosthunters and Proof Positive. Again, there's something about this time of the year. In other news here...again, you'll have to pardon the lack of new articles. K'Tok had a new job, then, "Oops! *giggle* Teehee, we kinda-sorta hired too many people!" So the good news is this time is he's eligible for unemployment. (Long story of why he wasn't last time, thankfully none of it his fault.) The bad news is that I pretty much used up my nest egg of savings last time. Rhaevyn's stressing. Yes. So, as much as I hate begging, again, if you have need of any books, purchasing them through Amazon via College Wicca helps support this site. Or, you could always scroll down to the PayPal Tip Jar and donate that way. It's mucho appreciated. Anyway, a big hello to the MysticWicks community, the Wiccan Livejournal community, and the Solitary Wiccans Livejournal community. I get a lot of hits from you guys...think of this as an attempt to return the favor. :) November 3, 2004--What I love
about this time of the year: Mmmm...Samhain. Even with
the actual Trick or Treating done in a matter of a few hours (and candy
that will last until next spring), this is still such a wonderful time
of the year. Why? No, actually, despite the strange weather, there's just something in the air. While on one hand I'm nearly shocked and appalled that the year is almost over, I think the idea that keeps returning to my mind when I think of Samhain is that it's a New Year. Every day is a New Year. We just get reminded of it now. So, if you have anything you want to start, you want to learn, you want to change, or you want to just do...my mom taught me this chant to help with the motivation: Put your hands together in a prayer position, and in a solemn voice, chant, "Ohhhhh...what the helllllll. Do it anywayyyyyyyy." Why? Because come tomorrow...today will be gone. And on that note, I'm going to go and try to organize the links that have been submitted and need to be posted... |
