College Wicca
Updates
April 30, 1998: Pages nearly complete, save for the Tarot and Astrology pages. Finally linked as the index page. Now open to the Public!

May 1, 1998: BELTANE: Chat room added! Update page and Message Board page added and ready to go. Page submitted to HotBot, Lycos, Infoseek, WebCrawler, AltaVista, etc. search engines.

May 2, 1998: Message Board added. Rules posted for the message board.

July 10, 1998: Became an Amazon.com Associate. Now books can be ordered from Amazon directly through this web site.

August 24, 1998: Finished Astrology page. It could probably always use more work, but it's good enough to look at now. Put counters on entrance page, main index, chat, and board pages.

August 30, 1998: Finished Tarot page and linked. Still planning on putting more spreads on there when I draw the spreads into gif files.

September 13, 1998: Put up links to as many College and University Pagan student groups as I can find at the moment...despite Netscape shutting down on me twice while typing in the HTML. >8'P

October 12, 1998: Noted that people weren't sure on how to use the chat room. Made a new page for instructions. Made and submitted the following banner for display on the Geoguide:

October 19, 1998: Completed the Pagan Group Start, Advertising, and Meeting Suggestions pages and linked them to the main page under College Wicca. They should be edited, but maybe I should check for other spelling errors. Nah...I'm lazy tonight. :) Note: Was denied the banner for the Geoguide. Perhaps because I'm Amazon Associate. Maybe because I don't have a "Get a Free Homepage" link on each page (which should have been taken care of by the watermark which has disappeared on its own accord). I'm unsure because Geocities didn't bother to tell me, so I say "Screw it!" I'll get better adverrtising from Witchvox, Avatar, and through links and word of mouth. >8'P~*~*~*~*

October 20, 1998: Made the Pages in the Works page and linked it to the main page. This page explains some pages I'm interested in creating sometime in the near future. It also requests suggestions for new pages.

December 12, 1998: Made pages on Yule, Celebrating as a Solitary, and Celebrating as a Group for the holiday. The Yule page is mostly from Akasha Ap Emry's pages at The Celtic Connection on celebrating the holidays, but she is given credit. I would like to do my own summary, but I wanted to get this page out before I leave for Break, so I don't have time to research, and her page is pretty much completely what I wanted to say.
I also put up a page about me. I figured that people are reading my opinions, yet are not getting any information on who the heck I am. This page includes little stupid facts on me, and has my picture. Eeek! *grin*

January 26, 1999: Finished and linked the pages on How to Make a Basic Wand, Parents, Peers, and Other People: Dealing with those of Not-Quite-Like-Mind, and Audio Pronunciation Guide. That should keep the masses happy for a while. *grin*

January 29, 1999: Added A Word on Teachers...this is kind of my rant on why teachers are not necessary, especially since I have a site full of information. I need to get more sleep so I'm less grumpy. :)

February 12, 1999: Finished the Printable Pages version of this site. It's the same information in black and white with most of the links written out so if someone does print it, they can see the address of the link so they can type it in directly. This is located on one of my Tripod sites for use of the extra space I have there. Pardon the pop-ups...I'd get rid of them if I could. :)

March 16, 1999: Posted the Ostara pages. Working on the other pages for the holidays.

July 22, 1999: Finally logged on to make some updates. Whew! I won't be around for a while, so I hope I can get Twilight Silverfox to take over the reins for a while when I'm in France. All changes are minor while I write up some new information.

August 23, 1999: Added the "Making your Book of Shadows" page and the "Study Abroad" page. Moved the "A Word on Teachers" page up to the College Wicca table. I originally had it separate because I felt it was something people needed to see. Now it's in league with the other information since College students are often looking for teachers. This is the last day I expect to do some major updates before I leave for France.

May 4, 2000: Found the "Human Click" program and added it. Now people can tell when I'm on-line and can ask questions directly, chat, or even leave a message when I'm not around. I hope this will promote the interactivity of this site. In the meantime, I'm making updates in Dreamweaver (hey, free software from my company put to good use) so I can make changes off-line (telephone time costs by the minute here in France) and upload all these changes at once when I get home.

May 29, 2000: Uploaded the site, complete with numerous changes, onto the Geocities server. Anything that looks new probably is. *g* Some of these updates seem small (spelling errors corrected, etc.) though the "About Me" page has been given a serious re-haul. Added the "Covens vs. Circles vs. Solitaries" page, "Mistakes and How to Avoid Them," and a starter/linking/information page for UNIVERSE-ity. UNIVERSE-ity is on its own site but still on Geocities to make it compatible with this site and to keep it in the CollegePark neighborhood. Since no one reads "Updates" pages like this one, I'm going to mention that I have a basic format for UNIVERSE-ity already on the site but hidden in a subfolder. I'll be happy to pass the link if anyone mentions this entry. *grin*

August 15, 2000: Uploaded changes to the site: Main page has been re-organized a bit, the "Magickal Name," "Being a Priest/ess," and "Deep Thoughts" pages have been added to the "Basic Wicca" menu. The "Awards," "Webrings," and "Rhaevyn's Library" pages have been added to the "Miscellaneous" section. The "Connect With Pagans" page has also been added, and that, along with the direct links to the Chat and Message Board page have been moved up. I still have three pages that will be added soon, plus a few others in the works that will not be added directly to the main page.

November 19, 2000: Hmmm...now I know I've added more that hasn't been put on this update page. Oh well...we forge ahead! UNIVERSE-ity has been put on hold as I don't have time to work on it. I have too much going on with my last semester of college, Silver Crescent, and just keeping my life together after my Mom died this summer. However, that does not mean I have not added to this site! I added the Spells, Journal Topics, and Purification pages, updated my Library list, and have made some clean-ups. I still need to update some links, and those will be coming soon. Right now I need to get my laundry from downstairs....

April 4, 2001: Okay, really I have been making updates, but I was notified that my guestbook wasn't working. Why? Yahoo-Geocities is full of butthea...uh, making a bunch of changes. Okay, so if I actually read the Geocities newsletter anymore, I would know about these things. Anyway, I did a quick upload of what I have (also to let people know I'm still alive), though I know a lot of the pages are not finished. Most of the changes are to the Deep Thoughts section. More to come..!

April 16, 2001:You don't know it yet but...I'm re-hashing the whole look of College Wicca. That means changing the look of over 100 files, adding new files, and fixing links, etc. It's hard work! But, by the time you read this, you be surfing through this new and improved site!

June 8, 2001: I've been doing pretty well on keeping the changes rolling, but I haven't been mentioning them on this page because there are so many things that have happened. You can see the design change...I've also been maintaining the weekly pictures fairly well (though sometimes I have to let them go for two weeks at a time) and have been coming up with new material. Most of the new information has been in the Deep Thoughts section. I have also added a page on the differences between Paganism, Wicca, Witchcraft, and Magick entitled Wiccans and Witches and Pagans, OH MY! I have a few more pages in the works, and we'll see how those turn out, as well.

June 11, 2001: Oooh! A new toy! I downloaded a shareware copy of Banner Maker Pro to make some banners for this site. I'm still playing with it, but have made four animated banners so far. They can be seen (and saved from) the Banners page.

June 20, 2001: I didn't want to think about it on my birthday...but after OVER 3 years of being on Geocities, I decided to move this site due to some really bad customer service by my former web host. Between the GeoGuide/AdBox frustration, not allowing banners, and other such mishaps, I decided it was time to move. Now I hope I can just make sure everyone gets the new change...

July 9, 2001: I'm still debating what to do about moving the site. I've tried a few places, but they've bummed out on me because their free services do not have all the things I need. (Did you know there are over 440 files on this site?) So I'm going to start pushing the Amazon.com Associates program in the hopes that the site can support itself. I just finished doing the new Books section to keep people up to date on what's new or good in the written world, especially since I've been reading a lot in my spare time. (What little spare time I have--usually I read on those nights when I'm an insomniac...kind of like tonight as I finished up the changes to that section!) It's also been a help since my friends have been throwing books at me, so I try to read and return them as soon as possible.

September 19, 2001: Now I know I've done more updates between July 9 and now, but I forgot to list them. Anyway, I added an essay entitled My Gods Are Quite Normal, Thank You Very Much! to the News section as a reply to an article entitled Strange Gods: Neo-Paganism on Campus written by Peter Wood. I've also updated the Books section, and added the space for Berkana's journal of her time as a college Wiccan. Beyond that, I think I just want to go to bed now. :)

January 4, 2002: Welcome to the new home of College Wicca! Yes, I finally bit the big one and purchased a web hosting package and registered a domain through myhosting.com. It feels odd to be my own dot-com now! But with that in mind, I really want to do some of the major updates that I've been working on. It helps that I managed to clean my room up so I could set up my full computer work station (scanner, CD burner, printer, digital camera, etc.) to work on the site more often. I have been doing some updates since the last post on here, but they have been minor--mostly changing the front images and opening topics on the index and home pages. Look for some neat changes in the near future! Extra space gives me lots of ideas.... :)

January 15, 2002: There have been so many new changes to the site! The printable pages are done, META tags were added, javascripts were adjusted to the new site, pages were fixed, a new guestbook was added, a new message board and chat room were added, a counter was put on the index page, and more things that I can't even remember! I still have several new things to do to finish up this long list and get the site back to the point where I want it to be. But at least I'm still so excited about getting this done!

February 2, 2002: I've changed the format for the Links section, and pulled it out of obscurity by giving it its own place on the navigation bar. Instead of just putting one page of links, I've broken it down into different sections (that will probably be changed in the future, as they will always be "Under Construction" somehow), and even added an e-mail form for people to do a quick submit of their own links. I also added the January Book of the Month, and did a little to the What I'm Reading Now page. I really need to update that more! But all that was actually a lot of work considering everything going on this week for me!

February 16, 2002: I've posted the Meditation page, as well as added some links and changed a few errors on pages. The Banner Exchanges are doing well, too. I've also moved my normal "Welcome" message to the Index page, and added a "Tip/Quote of the Day" to the Home page to give it a little more spice. Things are coming along well! I just need lots more time to do what I want to finish up....

March 15, 2002: I've had most of the new updates finished, but did not post them until now. I've added two new Deep Thoughts, plus linked all the books in Rhaevyn's Library to Amazon.com. I re-did my "To do" list and now it's much longer...I wonder when I'll have time to finish a lot of the things on my plate, but at least they're the "fun" items like writing new essays!

February 2, 2003: Okay, I just have to say there were several updates between March 15th and now...I just forgot to add them to this page. You can get the scoop in the Old News section for anything from August 2002 on, but I didn't archive it until August. C'est la vie. In any case, I just uploaded the new version of the site...College Wicca 3.0. There are so many changes that I don't know where to start! First of all, I got rid of the frames...I didn't like them, anyway, but they were more or less necessary for the navigation. I've added new content by including the book reviews sections, the Student Store, did some re-arranging of the files, did some major clean-up...each page also has links to further suggested reading that people can buy from Amazon.com which will also help support this site, I've added the Pay Pal Tip Jar on the bottom of every page. I've done more Books of the Month, made the printable pages more accessible...gosh, I know there was so much to do! Now I can't remember all the changes that were put into place!

April 8, 2003: I took about a month off to recover from work-induced stress, but managed to write out a new essay. The Esbats page is now done. Working on lessons next, I think....

April 16, 2003: Launched the new Message Forum. This board is hosted on the College Wicca site instead of going to Bravenet. I hate pop-ups as much as the next person, trust me! Now if anyone wants to buy books and stuff, it would be a help to make sure the new Forum stays.... *hint hint*

May 28, 2003: Uncle Hyena graciously gave permission to post a set of Sabbat Poems, and I *FINALLY* posted them.

June 12, 2003: Uncle Hyena wrote a final poem, and I added it to his gallery.

July 2, 2003: Added the Pagan Downloads page.

July 9, 2003: Added a metric butt-laod of links to the various links pages: New links on the General Wiccan/Pagan/Witchcraft, Pagan Merchants, and one new link on the Pagan SPO pages. I don't think I want to procrastinate on that anymore.

April 17, 2003: A new essay was put up: You Know You're Ready When...: A FAQ to answer some of those questions that begin with, "When will I know I'm ready...?"
